A casual blog highlighting my life with kids, grandkids and kitties...Also an avenue to show some items from my etsy shops.
**Please note..The other half of my life is dovoted to helping feral and free roaming cats in Walnut and the surrounding areas. You can learn more and follow our activites there at Walnut Iowa's Feral Cat Program! **
A busy two days coming up for me. I'm trying to get the house a bit in order and the cats situated so that I can leave.
My friend Kandi has a birthday today and she and me a couple other ladies are hanging out today. I will stay in Omaha tonight, then tomorrow is the dreaded Tax appointment. I always hate that day, but so glad when its over. I have a chiropractor appointment and a Glenn Beck Show Meetup at 3pm at the Fox and Hound on 120th and Dodge...fun! Then Larry arrives back home and he and I will drive back to Walnut together. Things just keep piling up! Life is good.
Quilting tip of the Day!
Do you feel sometimes that your quilts are piling up and you don't know what to do with them? Have you heard that hanging them on your wall with stretch them out and folding them creates permanent creases? Try "piling" them on a bed. A rarely used bed in a guest bedroom works great. Just lay them over the bed and layer them up! This keeps them flat, keeps them from fading, if you rotate their position and keep the shades drawn. Another fun thing is that when you want to show them off? you can just flip up the corner and give a little quilt show! Happy Quilting!
Life has been busy...so many things going on in my day, that I have neglected my blog for nearly a week! It doesn't help that American Idol and Dancing with the Stars have started their new seasons. My Etsy shop is getting busier and I have been on the hunt for new items to post and working with crochet hooks and sewing machines to increase my inventory.
Most of you know that Jeff is nearly on his way home. I'm really happy that he gets to come, but his "chit" (request) hasn't been approved yet. This could be a potential problem, but we are praying that all will go thru and he will be back on the 21st as planned. I post these patriotic "Navy Mom" things, knowing that Jeff really doesn't like the Navy much. I think it irritates him that I do it, but I am proud of him. He has made many, many sacrifices to be where he is, doing what he is doing. If he had a choice, he wouldn't be there anymore...but this is what he chose to do and so now, he must persevere.. I know that he will come out of the Navy a different person and all his adventures and experiences are shaping who he will be. I am proud of him. I would be proud of him for whatever choice he would have made.
